AMETEK Solidstate Controls has so much to be grateful for!

This Fall, AMETEK Solidstate Controls took some time to reflect on our growth and development over the years. We realized that we have so much to be grateful for, especially our employees who have supported us along the way. In the spirit of being headquartered and manufactured in Columbus, Ohio, we wanted to know what our US based team likes best about working for us. From family dynamics to company culture and tradition, this initiative has allowed us to gather firsthand accounts on why AMETEK Solidstate Controls is a wonderful environment to be a part of.

When speaking with some of our employees, we learned a lot about their lives outside of work. Tim is a Quality Control Environmental Health Coordinator here in Columbus. When interviewing him, he highlighted his life outside of work. Sharing about his wife and two kids, we learned about their family involvement with soccer and that hisoldest daughter goes to the University of Cincinnati, where she is a member of the National Guard.

Michelle is our Field Service Scheduling Coordinator here. Like Tim, Michelle was also excited to talk about her life outside of the workplace. Michelle grew up in Columbus and has always been familiar with the area, but she expressed that AMETEK Solidstate Controls has allowed her to be more involved with her community than ever before. Being new to the team, Michelle has felt very welcome to the company and has been able to quickly get involved and experience new things with her coworkers.

The topic of philanthropy came up many times as well while interviewing our employees. Cindy is our Director of Client Services and when speaking with her, we learned that she values the opportunities Solidstate Controls has provided to give back to the community. She emphasized her appreciation for the Sponsor a Child in Foster Care event at holiday time and our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive for Byron Saunders. Cindy also supports our recycling program and enjoys visiting schools to encourage young people to pursue careers in STEM.

Supporting the community is one of our top priorities at Solidstate Controls and it’s engrained in our company mission. When speaking with Sam, our Director of Engineering and R&D, he shared his appreciation for how the systems we manufacture support our community and communities across the nation. Sam stated, “We give others a level of support so they can conduct their day-to-day operations without having to worry. That is what I see as the most visible aspect of how we support our community and how we give back. We have highly professional people performing at the highest-level day in and day out, week in and week out, all year long”. Without our systems, many critical operations would be at risk of failing during emergent situations, which causes a ripple effect in the surrounding communities.

Getting to talk one on one with our employees not only has allowed us to get to know them better as individuals, but it has allowed them to share the parts of our company culture that make them want to come to work every day. We are honored to be able to highlight our US based employees who work to build our equipment from the ground up. We have more interviews to come, so stay tuned to learn more about our team!
