We know you probably made a dinner reservation months ago or have purchased something special for your significant other, but your Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system also deserves some love this Valentine’s Day! AMETEK Solidstate Controls offers service plans that make sure your systems are running to their full capacity. While our units are designed to last, they require regular check-in just like your car to ensure they continue to run at peak performance.

Make a Reservation for Preventive Maintenance

Preventive Maintenance (PM) is important to ensuring your assets continue to run at peak performance. We recommend annual checks of your equipment beginning on your first anniversary date following the manufacture date. Like any anniversary, it is pertinent that you remember the date and make a prior reservation. Our systems don’t like being forgotten either, which is why we recommend scheduling your annual PMs in advance with the help of your AMETEK Aftermarket Regional Sales Manager.

We offer three different PM packages based on the age of your equipment: annual (PM1), five year (PM5) and 10 year (PM10). No matter which service is due, each PM allows you to plan your outages ahead of time, so that you aren’t scrambling when the time comes. During each PM your system will:

  • Have all critical components replaced based on their electronic life cycle
  • Be given a full diagnostic reading to ensure all critical system parameters are operating properly
  • Have its voltage and current readings calibrated with a True RMS Meter
  • Receive verification that all AC Caps are functioning correctly
  • Have a ripple current battery test performed to confirm it has less than a 5% amp hour rating
  • Go through a Low DC Voltage Disconnect simulation to test proper performance of the Aux Contact and Shunt Trip Circuit in the DC input Breaker
  • Be checked for balanced currents flowing into the Charger Bridge
  • Have the equipment operate in a simulated power outage to ensure the equipment and batteries function as designed if required to do so in a real unplanned outage

A PM isn’t the only way to show your system love, you can also invest in a Comprehensive Service Agreement.

Making the Big Investment

Our Comprehensive Service Agreements (CSA) are slightly more expensive than an engagement ring but are just as worth it, and we have way better payment plans!

You have three choices with a Service Agreement: the Basic, the CSA and the CSA+. Our Basic plan is perfect for facilities that are unable to put their systems into bypass outside of their scheduled blackout dates. Our technicians will plan to service your equipment during these planned periods and will return each year to do a visual check and diagnose any problems that may occur.

Both the CSA and CSA+ allow you to lock in your price and pay the full amount over the life of your agreement, which can be tailored to your facilities needs. Locked-in pricing means that what you owe will not change even if the economy does. This makes budgeting even easier by having one fixed price from year to year. You will also receive additional services and a greater discount on parts when opting for a CSA or CSA+.

Don’t leave your UPS in the dust this Valentine’s Day! Contact us to learn more about how we can customize your maintenance plan to ensure uptime of your assets.
