Thanksgiving Reflection

As we approach one of our favorite American Holidays, Thanksgiving, we reflect on how grateful we are for our amazing team, clients and community. At AMETEK Solidstate Controls, we put an emphasis on teamwork and recognizing, celebrating and sharing our success.

Our people are an integral part of what we do, and we take every opportunity we can to not only recognize them, but their families who support them and allow them to show up and give us 110% each day so that we can ensure our clients have the critical power systems they need to keep their businesses operating. We celebrate our employees with regular lunches, a company BBQ to kick off summer, ice cream and cookie days, monthly food trucks, annual holiday parties and more. This year we hosted family zoo day where employees and their families got to enjoy the zoo, lunch and even feed the giraffes. There are not enough events and words to truly thank them for their hard work and dedication to our success.

No success is complete without sharing and giving back, and we strive to partner with multiple non-profit organizations in Ohio where we are headquartered. For the last two years, we have been the title sponsor for our local Make-A-Wish Walk for Wishes at the Columbus Zoo and our employees come together to raise their own additional funds and walk during the event. We have also partnered with Make-A-Wish to make a local child’s dream garden wish come true.

We regularly donate bottled water and other hydrating beverages and snacks, as well as provide monetary support to Box 15 Club to help their mission of providing first responders with essential nutrients and hydration. Annually we raise funds and contribute non-perishable food items to the Byron Saunders Foundation who provides Thanksgiving meals to those in need in our community. This year we are donating more than 10 boxes of food!

We’re continually looking for ways to get involved and give back to our community. As part of this effort, we had our first ever Pelotonia team riding to raise funds to fight cancer this year. In December, we will be partnering with NECCO to provide gifts to local foster children during the holiday season. We’re excited to have added two new avenues to give back to our community and look forward to seeing our involvement with both grow in the years to come.

This holiday and giving season, we encourage you to take the time to reflect on the people around you who have contributed to your success and how you can share that with the community around you.
